PA Grand Canyon Fall Hike

Let's adventure!

Cosmos' Lounge is headed to the PA Grand Canyon to take a hike! This day trip is open to teens grades 6–12 and includes everything you need for an epic day of fall hiking.

What we'll be doing

We'll hike a trail at Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon (Pine Creek Gorge) in Tioga County, taking in peak fall foliage views from the overlooks along the way. The pace and trail will be chosen so all skill levels can participate, with breaks built in for photos, snacks, and taking in the scenery.

Turkey Path Trail (Leonard Harrison State Park) — the most iconic hike here

• A two-mile round-trip trail that passes cascading waterfalls on its way to the bottom of the gorge, with stairs and switchbacks (Difficult Trail)

• Descends steeply from the rim to the canyon floor, then back up the same way

• steep stairs, uneven footing, significant elevation change in a short distance

Overlook Trail (Leonard Harrison State Park) 

• Moderately challenging route that takes an average of 30 minutes to complete, with a few steep but short sections

• Short loop with two scenic overlooks of the gorge

Why we're going

There's something about being out on a trail, no phones buzzing, no distractions, just the group, the woods, and the view at the top. Hiking the PA Grand Canyon during peak fall foliage gives our teens a chance to unplug, get some fresh air, and push through a physical challenge alongside their peers. Finishing a hike builds a quiet kind of confidence: you set a goal, you worked for it, and you got there. It's exactly the kind of experience Cosmos' Lounge exists to provide — getting teens outside, building independence, and showing them what they're capable of, one mile at a time.

Trip Details

Trip Date: October 4, 2026

Departure/Return: Leaves from Cosmos' Lounge at 9:00 AM, returns in the evening around 5:00 PM

Safety first

All Cosmos' Lounge staff and chaperones hold current PA child care clearances and CPR certification. Because we can't guarantee that every parent or guardian on a trip would have the same clearances, parents are not able to join this trip — this keeps things safe and consistent for every teen in the group.
