Raising teens today isn’t easy. Between school pressure, social media, and limited safe places to gather, many young people are missing something essential: connection outside of home and school.

That’s where Cosmos’ Lounge comes in.

What Is A Third Space?

A third space is a place teens can go that is:

  • Not home

  • Not school

  • Safe, welcoming, and supervised

Research consistently shows that teens who have access to positive third spaces experience better outcomes across social, emotional, and academic areas.

Why Does It Matter?

​​Teens with access to safe after-school spaces are less likely to engage in risky behaviors

  • Regular participation in out-of-school programs is linked to improved grades, attendance, and school engagement

  • Teens who feel a sense of belonging show lower levels of anxiety and depression

  • Unstructured but supervised social time supports communication skills, confidence, and emotional regulation
