Our Story: From Isolation to Impact
Hey, I’m Ashly—Founder of Cosmos’ Lounge.
When I was a teen in Bradford, it often felt like there was nowhere to go and nothing to do—a sense of isolation and disconnection that’s all too common in small communities. I spent years hearing from teens who felt unseen and unsupported, just waiting for a real opportunity and a genuine sense of belonging.
Cosmos’ Lounge was born out of my desire to change that narrative—not to “fix” teens, but to trust and empower them, creating the kind of community I wish I’d had. Cosmos is my answer to the challenges I faced—and the challenges today’s teens still navigate. It’s proof of what’s possible when young people are given a platform to lead, connect, and shape their own future.
Why Cosmos' Exists
Cosmos’ Lounge is the home base of a youth-led movement dedicated to empowering teens with opportunities for growth, connection, and self-expression. More than just a place between home and school, the Lounge is where young people discover their strengths, explore creativity, and find true belonging—free from pressure or judgment. Here, teens are collaborators and co-creators, helping to design the experiences and culture that define Cosmos'.
