Our Story : Creating Bradford's Third Space
When I was a teen in Bradford, one feeling stood out above all others: there was nowhere to go, and nothing to do.
Everything felt either too adult, too kid-focused. Like many teens in rural communities, boredom, restlessness, and disconnection were constant — and the message was clear: grow up and get out.
Years later, after more than a decade working alongside young people, it was clear the story hadn’t changed.
Again and again, I heard the same things: there’s nothing for teens to do, nowhere for them to go.
Cosmos’ Lounge was created in response — not to fix teens, but to trust them, believe in them, and give them a space of their own.

Why Cosmos' Exists
Cosmos’ Lounge is a third space — a place between home and school where teens can gather, explore creativity, build relationships, and grow without pressure or judgment.
From the beginning, Cosmos has been shaped by teens themselves. Young people aren’t just participants here — they are collaborators and co-creators of the space and its experiences.
As Cosmos grows, our mission remains grounded in a simple belief:
young people thrive when they are trusted, supported, and given space to belong.

Our Vision
To create a third space designed for teens, by teens—offering a place that is truly theirs, where they are seen, heard, and valued; where they can exist without pressure, try new things, and take a break from expectations.
