Common Concerns Answered

Cosmos’ Lounge serves teens ages 12–20.

  • During after-school drop-in hours ( 3–6 PM), teens in grades 6–12 are welcome.

  • Some programs, such as After Hours, are specifically for ages 16–20.

  • Many events and workshops are age-specific (middle school, high school, or young adults).

Age details are always listed on our website and social media.

WHAT AGES IS COSMOS' LOUNGE FOR?

IS COSMOS ONLY FOR "AT RISK YOUTH"?

No, Cosmos' Lounge is for all teens.  We have teens from all types of backgrounds at The Lounge.  The wonderful thing is that because of the staff, the attention to building positive relationships, the focus on integrity and accountability, The Lounge is a place where everyone learns from each other and where genuine connections and friendships are made.  The Lounge has “vibe checks”  posted throughout the building reminding teens of what is expected of them while in the lounge space.

DO I NEED TO SIGN UP TO GO?

No, you can just drop-in. We will ask each new participant to fill out an emergency contact form. Some special events, workshops, or trips may require advance registration.

ARE TEENS SUPERVISED?

Yes. Teens are always supervised by staff during open hours and programs.

Cosmos’ Lounge is a supervised community space (not a licensed childcare facility). We maintain staff presence throughout the space and utilize security cameras in each room to support safety and accountability.

WHAT IF THERE'S A BEHAVIOR ISSUE?

We focus on communication, accountability, and restoration.
If behavior becomes unsafe or disruptive, staff will intervene and may contact a parent or guardian if needed. Repeated issues may result in limited participation.

ARE FOOD AND DRINKS ALLOWED?

Outside food and drinks are permitted. Snacks and concessions are available on-site.
